Concessions Spotlight: Wild Garlic Pizza

Wild Garlic Pizza is a locally owned restaurant that formed with the goal of becoming a concessionaire at RNO. How cool is that? Known for its signature twisty crust, delightful when dipped in honey, Wild Garlic adds its own special flair to each bite.

Dean, the owner, and Will from SSP (Food Travel Experts America) have built a thriving partnership focusing on product quality. The central kitchen produces signature dough and sauces for all Wild Garlic and Blind Onion locations in the region, ensuring consistency and high-quality pizza made fresh at RNO.

16th Annual Employee Art Show Awards

Last month, we announced the installation of the 16th Annual Employee Art Show, showcasing the creative talents of 76 Reno-Tahoe International Airport employees and their family members in the depARTures Gallery. Now, the results are in, and we have awarded the top prizes to our talented artists.

We are highlighting Brenda Zuvicich with TSA who won Best in Show for her piece God Bless America. Full of emotions, Brenda said, “I have never won anything before, this is just so exciting.”

Passengers can visit the exhibition and see the winners in the C Concourse Connector until August 12, 2024. For a glimpse into the exhibition and the airport’s art programming, visit RNO Arts.

Summer Travel Trends

In June, airlines will offer the most one-way seats in a single month since September 2008. So, as we enter one of the busiest summer seasons at RNO, here are some key travel trends to keep in mind when planning your vacation:

1. Wellness Tourism: Destinations offering wellness retreats, yoga, meditation and spa treatments are seeing a surge in popularity. Consider a trip that combines relaxation with rejuvenation at these popular yoga retreats.

2. Adventure Travel: Outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking and cycling are attracting adventure enthusiasts. Explore planned guided tours with REI to unexpected destinations like the Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. Note: You can access the mountains from both Nashville International Airport or Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

3. Family Travel: With summer vacations in full swing, family-friendly destinations and activities are in high demand. Look for special offers and packages that cater to family needs, like these 50 destinations for families on a budget.

Keep these trends in mind as you plan your summer travels and make the most of your journeys from RNO.
