The Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) is the gateway to Reno-Tahoe and our restaurants and retail businesses are integral in providing that positive first and last impression on our region. We proudly feature local bites and brands that celebrate the diversity our community has to offer and makes our region unique. All businesses, large and small, are welcome to land here.
Coming Soon
The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) will soon release public solicitations known as a Request for Proposal (RFP) which is a formal search for proposals to fill available concessions spaces. In advance of the RFP process, the RTAA will host meet and greets to introduce interested smaller-scale enterprises with Prime Concessionaires to allow for the development of partnerships.
RNO is undergoing our MoreRNO Infrastructure Program which will, by replacing the existing concourses with two larger and modernized concourses, add significantly more concessions space to the program. We will have more to offer passengers and local business entrepreneurs in our community.
The upcoming RFP process will encompass most concession spaces throughout the airport, spanning both floors of the main terminal building, areas both before and after the security checkpoint, as well as the newly constructed concourses. More information will be available soon.
Thriving Commerce
We move about 4.6 million passengers each year, and our mission is to leave each one with a great impression of the Reno-Tahoe region. During the average one-hour wait before their flight, passengers spend an average of $13 each on shopping and dining. So, we’re working hard to bring local flavors and brands into the new airport concourses, ensure prices comply with our market pricing requirement, and provide all the support your business needs to soar.
Best Bites and Brands
The goal of our Best Bites and Brands of Reno-Tahoe campaign is to encourage more local entrepreneurs and those who qualify as ACDBE (Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise), to learn more about our concessions opportunities and airport operations, create opportunities for partnerships with experienced Prime Concessionaires, and prep for the RFP process. If you are interested in learning more about concessions at RNO, please fill out our Business Engagement Form to connect with our team.
Social Media Giveaway
As part of the “Best Bites and Brands of Reno-Tahoe” we asked the community for feedback to ensure the airport continues to exceed expectations for travelers in and out of our region, and showcase more regional flavors and products. With more space, art, and architectural nods northern Nevada, the sky is the limit for bringing in more bites and brands of Reno-Tahoe.
We sourced community input and received hundreds of responses nominating favorite businesses. Three lucky participants were chosen to win Visa gift cards. Congratulations to Aida B. from Las Vegas, Aurora D. from Reno, and Michelle C. from Reno.
New or Returning Businesses
At the airport, concessions depend on partnerships with two types of businesses: Prime Concessionaires and small, medium, or local businesses. Both types participate in the same solicitation process at RNO, although they may have different requirements for involvement. Learn more about each type below.
-
Prime Concessionaires
A Prime Concessionaire refers to an arrangement where an airport grants all or most of the concessions spaces within a particular category to a single operator, allowing them to self-operate the majority of locations. These businesses will form partnerships with smaller-scale enterprises and those qualified under ACDBE guidelines to partner on operations or the branding of locations in the concessions program.
-
Small, Medium, or Local Businesses
These businesses may operate within specific concession categories and participate in the solicitation process alongside Prime Concessionaires. They could include Airport Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (ACDBE), smaller-scale enterprises, medium-sized businesses, franchisees of national or other brands, or local establishments that provide branding, services or products within the airport’s concession areas.
