12-08-2015 - Oakland Flights on Southwest Airlines Starting June 2016

Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) proudly announces daily non-stop service to Oakland, CA on Southwest Airlines beginning June 5, 2016. Southwest will offer three flights per day between Reno-Tahoe and the Bay Area.

“Southwest is bringing back Oakland,” said Marily Mora, President/CEO of Reno-Tahoe International Airport. “The community asked for the return of the Oakland flight and we are happy to announce that the non-stop flight to the Bay is back, thanks to Southwest.”

Southwest flew the Oakland-Reno route until June of 2013. Getting the non-stop Oakland service back has been a top priority for the airport ever since. The business and the tourism community came together to make the flight possible.

“Non-stop Oakland service will give both business and leisure travelers another option for travel between Reno and the Bay Area,” said Mora. “But now it is truly a case of ‘use it or lose it’ and it is up to the community to fill the seats.”

Southwest Airlines will fly the route between Reno-Tahoe International and Oakland International Airport, with a 143-seat Boeing 737-700 aircraft. Flight times are as follows:
