Ground Transportation

Reno-Tahoe International Airport is located in the heart of Reno, within 15-minutes of all major hotels in the area. RNO offers a variety of convenient ground transportation options including shuttles, taxis, limousines, public transportation and rideshares.

Drop-off and Pick-up

Hop In and Go

 

Drop-off Location: commercial ground transportation (taxi, shuttle, rideshare and limos) drop-offs have two locations available, and depending on the company, may opt to drop off along the outer curb of the Ticketing Hall or in the ground transportation loop near baggage claim Door D.

Pick-up Location: all commercial pick-ups are outside baggage claim Door D in the ground transportation loop.

Complimentary Hotel Shuttles

 

Many area hotels offer complimentary airport pick-up and drop off services, including the listed shuttles below. Please contact your hotel directly for details. When you see your shuttle, please safely approach the vehicle and board as the shuttle may not stop directly in front of where you are waiting.

Taxis

The passenger waiting area for taxis is located outside of the D Doors located north of Baggage Claim.

The passenger waiting area for limousines is located outside of the D Doors located north of Baggage Claim.

 

Peer-to-Peer Car Sharing

Peer-to-Peer Car Sharing company, Turo, is available at RNO. 

Designated Parking Areas: 
There are designated parking spaces market in red located in the overflow lot (Blue Lot) along the airport loop road. The entrance to the lot is along the right side of the loop road marked with “overflow” signage.

Face-to-Face Exchanges:
The face-to-face exchange area for Turo is located outside of the D Doors located north of Baggage Claim. Follow signs outside of the D Doors, at the far north end of Baggage Claim, and look for the rideshare shelter in the ground transportation lot where customers may exchange through Turo.

Pedestrian Access

Pedestrian access is available north of the airport entrance at E. Plumb Lane. Please see marked pedestrian signage along Terminal Way.

Uber and Lyft

Rideshare Options

Getting to and from RNO is easy with rideshare and Transportation Network Company services like Uber and Lyft. Follow signage upon arrival or use your rideshare app to request a ride.

Lyft provides a reliable and affordable way to travel to and from RNO. Simply request a ride through the Lyft app and follow signs to the designated rideshare pick-up zone. With a range of ride options, Lyft makes airport travel simple and stress-free.

Drop-off and Pick-up

Drop-off: Passengers may be dropped-off anywhere along the outer curb of the terminal building.

Pick-up: Follow signs to the ground transportation loop just outside baggage claim Door D. When exiting the building, follow the cross walk through the lot to the far end. There’s signage and a weather shelter for you to wait for your rideshare.

Rideshare Safety Tips

Use the acronym “SAMI” to safely use rideshare services.

S – Stop. Plan ahead. Before you request a ride, think about where you’re headed and review the safety features in the app so you know how to use them.
A – Ask. Ask your driver “what’s my name” to confirm they have booked a trip with you through the ride sharing app.
M – Match. Match the make and model and license plate of the car with the one displayed in the app.
I – Inform. Share the details of your trip with a friend. Utilize the “share status” function in the Uber app.

Public Tranportation

City Bus

City Bus service is provided by RTC RIDE between the airport, downtown Reno, and Meadowood Mall. Passengers with a different destination can connect to another bus at the downtown Reno or Meadowood Mall stops.The closest stop to the airport is RTC Route 12, with a pick-up/drop-off location near Terminal Way and Villanova Drive. This route operates 7 days a week. Airport guests interested in specific route information can contact RTC Customer Service for assistance at (775) 348-RIDE (Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – noon and 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.) or visit their website at www.rtcwashoe.com.

The Reno-Tahoe International Airport is also serviced by RTC Access, a paratransit service that provides door-to-door, prescheduled transportation for people with disabilities who meet the eligibility criteria.
