Plan ahead this holiday season—overflow lots may reach capacity. Consider catching a ride or giving a ride to a friend!

Thank You for Choosing to Park at RNO!

Parking Options

Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) provides safe, well-lit parking conveniently located just across from the terminal. With limited space and high demand, our parking lots often fill quickly, especially during peak travel times. However, we offer solutions, including overflow parking when main lots reach capacity—just follow posted signage to locate these areas.

Our parking facility is open 24 hours a day, and our team is available to assist you with any questions. You can check live updates on available spaces and view pricing and parking options below.

For a smoother experience, consider additional ways to get to and from RNO, such as rideshares, public transit, or arranging a drop-off.

Please note:

  • Daily rates apply after six hours.
  • Available spot counts below are accurate and reflect public availability.
  • Parking reservations are not available at this time.
  • Height restrictions vary; please review details in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.

Color-coded numbers show parking availability, similar to a stoplight: green means plenty of spots, yellow means spaces are limited, and red means few or no spots are available.

Overflow Parking

Walking and Shuttles from Overflow

Please note that not all overflow parking lots offer shuttle service, so plan for a walk of up to 15 minutes to the terminal. Depending on your parking spot, you may reach the terminal in as little as five minutes.

Overflow lots open based on logistics like shuttle service, staffing, and weather conditions. If shuttle service is available for a lot, there will be clear signage, and shuttles will run every 10 minutes from that lot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the real-time parking availability accurate?

Yes! Our real-time parking feature accurately reflects the number of available spaces for public use.

There may be open spaces visible in the lot that are reserved for airport operations and other essential uses, but are not accessible to the public. Our system ensures that travelers have an accurate view of open spaces meant for passenger parking.

Why does the website show full, but the entrance to parking is open?

In some cases, we keep entrances open to allow vehicles to flow toward designated overflow areas or newly available spaces. The website accurately reflects available spaces in the lot, while the entrance remains open to guide cars toward overflow options. Our goal is to reduce congestion and prevent delays by directing traffic appropriately.

Does parking availability really change that quickly?

Due to high passenger flow, parking spaces can fill up or free up quickly, with availability changing within minutes, especially during peak times. We recommend checking parking availability often and considering alternate options during peak periods such as the holiday season and Washoe County school breaks.

Rest assured, our parking team works around the clock to provide real-time information on availability and guide travelers to open spaces.

Can I reserve a parking space?

Parking at RNO is first-come, first-served. We do not take parking reservations at this time. You can check real-time parking availability on our website. During peak times, overflow parking will be available—just look for the signage!

What if I lost or damaged my parking ticket?

Please head to the cashier on the far left side of the garage exit (not self-serve), and our parking team can assist you. You can also dial (775) 328-6551 if you need further assistance.

How can I get a copy of my parking receipt?

Email GT@renoairport.com with the following information:

  • Date of Transaction
  • Amount
  • Last 4 digits of card used

What if I need help with a flat tire, a dead battery, or I can’t locate my car?

The RNO parking team will gladly provide free assistance 24/7. You can reach them at (775) 328-6551. Please don’t hesitate to call with any questions or concerns you may have.

Can I drop off or pick up a passenger along the curb at ticketing or baggage claim?

Passengers can be dropped off at the outer curb at ticketing and baggage claim, but remember that the outer curb is for immediate loading or unloading only. Vehicles left unattended or parked alongside the outer curb are not permitted and will be asked to move. (See curbside parking citation below.)

Learn more about Passenger Drop-Off & Pick-Up.

How long can I park my car at the airport?

RNO encourages you to notify the parking team for extended stays longer than 60 days. Please give our parking team a call at (775) 328-6551.

Do you have accessible parking?

RNO has accessible parking available in the Short-Term Garage, Long-Term Garage, or Long-Term Surface Lot. Accessible parking spaces are marked and located on each floor of the parking garage near the elevators and the far north corner of the Long-Term Surface Lot.

RNO offers free parking to any vehicles displaying “Veterans with Pearl Harbor Survivor, Pearl Harbor Veteran, Congressional Medal of Honor, Purple Heart, Silver Star, Bronze Star, Disabled Veteran, and Ex-POW” license plates. There are no other discounts offered for Veterans or ADA placards.

Is the parking at RNO secure?

RNO parking areas are fenced, well-lit, and patrolled. However, we will always recommend that you take any valuables in your car with you or leave them at home if you’re parking for extended periods of time, just to be safe.

What are the height clearances or height restrictions?

Road and curbside clearance:

The Skybridge, located above the passenger pick-up and drop-off driving lanes, has a height clearance of 14’6″ and the canopies along the curb have a height restriction of 13′.

Parking lot and garage clearance:

  • Short-Term (1st Level) – 7 feet, 7 inches
  • Long-Term (2nd Level) -8 feet, 2 inches
  • Surface Lot – No height restrictions

Please note, oversized vehicles that cannot fit into a single parking space are not permitted.

What is considered an oversized vehicle?

If your vehicle cannot fit into the parking garage or requires more room than one parking space, it is considered an oversized vehicle.

*Please note these height limitations:

  • Short-Term (1st Level) – 7 feet, 7 inches
  • Long-Term (2nd Level) -8 feet, 2 inches
  • Surface Lot – No height restrictions

*Due to increased parking demand, oversized vehicles are not permitted. Vehicles occupying multiple spaces will be towed at the owner’s expense. Please take an alternate method of transportation to the airport. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact the Parking Department at (775) 328-6551 if you have any questions.

I received a curbside/parking citation. How can I pay my ticket?

For your convenience, RED payment drop boxes are located along the outer curb and are available 24/7 for paid tickets.

Paid tickets can also be mailed using the pre-paid postage on the back of the ticket to the following address:

Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority
P.O. Box 12490
Reno, NV 89510

Tickets can be paid with cash, a cashier’s check, money orders, or personal checks.

I received a curbside/parking citation by mistake. Can I appeal it?

Parking citations are issued for violations of curbside rules. Curbside rules are in place to ensure all travelers have a safe and streamlined experience.

  • Vehicles may not park and wait at the airport’s front (or outer) curb. These areas are for immediate loading and unloading only.
  • Do not leave your vehicle unattended at the front (or outer) curb for any reason. Unattended vehicles may be cited, towed, and/or searched by Airport Police. Airport safety regulations are strictly enforced to ensure the security of our passengers.

If you feel you have been incorrectly cited, you may file an appeal by completing a Parking Citation Appeal Form within 30 days of the infraction.

Can I park my car at the airport to be used for peer-to-peer carsharing?

The peer-to-peer carsharing company, Turo, is authorized to operate at RNO.

There are two operational locations:
Park and pick up is located in the overflow lot (Blue Lot) located along the Loop Road on the right side before you reach the front curb. Please park in the designated peer-to-peer carsharing spaces. The spaces are located near the crosswalk and are designated in red.

If the gate to the Blue Lot is closed, or “out of order”, then press the call button for assistance. Blue Lot has designated peer-to-peer carsharing spaces, even if the lot is showing as full.

Face-to-Face pick up is located near the ride share pick up area outside of Baggage Claim Door D, just past the shuttle pick up area. Look for the peer-to-peer carsharing signs.
