  • EAA Chapter 1361 Young Eagle Event

    Saturday, July 13 7:00am – 10:30am

Ever wondered what your neighborhood looks like from the sky? Or maybe you’re curious how airplanes even work. You might even dream about being a pilot. If you’re nodding your head Yes and are between the ages of 8 and 17, you’re ready to take a free Young Eagles flight and see what real pilots do on the ground and in the air.

The Young Eagle program, established by the Experimental Aircraft Association in 1992, is our way of introducing aviation to young adults interested in flying. Each Young Eagle will attend a short briefing where they will be introduced to the Experimental Aircraft Association, the Young Eagles Program and to light aircraft and flight operations safety. They will then be provided with the opportunity to take a short airplane ride with an FAA-certificated volunteer Young Eagle pilot.

There is no charge for this event.

To date the Young Eagle program has flown over 2.3 million young adults and 7% of all private pilots started as Young Eagles. All Young Eagles must be registered for this event by their parent or legal guardian. When you check in at the event, the parent or guardian will need to digitally sign a waiver in order for the Young Eagle to participate. A copy of the waver to be signed is available at the end of the registration process.

    For more information: https://eaa1361.org/eaa-young-eagles/  or https://facebook.com/EAAChapter1361 .

The program runs until the last Young Eagle has been given a flight experience or until the weather prevents an enjoyable flight.

We will have three starting times — 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00 AM.  We fly early in order to beat the heat.
