RELEASE – Home Means Nevada Exhibit Coming Soon to Reno-Tahoe International Airport
Nevada Arts Council’s Traveling Exhibition Program Finds a Home at RNO
RENO, Nev. (Nov. 13, 2023) – On loan from the Nevada Arts Council, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) will showcase the beauty of the Silver State with Home Means Nevada, a traveling art exhibition that captures the state’s spectacular geography, unique natural features, and poignant history. Based on an exhibit installed in the rotunda of the Senate Russell Building in Washington D.C., the artwork will be on display through Feb. 1, 2024, in the airport’s depARTures Gallery.
This show, themed around Nevada’s state song of the same title, features 15 photographers and highlights some of the unique treasures found on federally managed lands across the state, from bighorns to Burning Man, to the ancient rock art and petroglyphs in the Gold Butte area. Nevada is clearly a place of inspiration for the photographers who find beauty in her rugged geology and starry skies.
Home Means Nevada is part of the Nevada Touring Initiative (NTI) Traveling Exhibition Program. It was funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts and the State of Nevada. The Nevada Arts Council is a division of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.
Media interested in viewing the installation can request a showing by calling the media line at 844-RNO-INFO (844-766-4636).

The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) operates two of the most important economic drivers for our region–the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) and the Reno-Stead Airport (RTS). The RTAA is financially self-sufficient, meaning it is funded through airport operations and not state or local taxes. Eleven airlines serve RNO, flying to multiple nonstop destinations throughout the United States and Mexico. For more details, visit www.renoairport.com.
