MEDIA ALERT – Reno-Stead Airport’s 75th Anniversary Celebration Runway Reconstruction and Military Tribute

WHO:      Brigadier General Bill Burks, the Commander of the Nevada National Guard; Lisa Gianoli, Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Board Chair; Marily Mora, Airport President & CEO; veterans and current military service members, community leaders and guests.

WHAT:    Reno‐Stead Airport culminates its year‐long 75th Anniversary celebration with the grand re‐opening of Runway 8/26 and a tribute to the military heroes and civilians who served at the air base since its inception in 1942. The airport will officially re-open the main runway with a celebratory “first landing,” commemorative brick project reveal, aircraft static display and USO-style entertainment and food.  This event is by invitation only.

WHEN:    Tuesday, October 23, at 10 a.m. 

WHERE:   Read-Stead Airport, at the Freedom Flight Terminal located at 4895 Texas Avenue.
