Reno, Nev. – Two locations in the parking areas at RNO are undergoing upgrades this week and next.
During the week of April 8, there will be two construction activities that will impact the Public Parking entrance plaza.
On Tuesday, April 9, one of the two entrance lanes into the Short Term Parking garage (furthest right entrance) will be closed for equipment upgrades. The lane will be closed all day Tuesday and Wednesday. During this time, the second entrance to the Short Term Garage will remain open and the impact to the traveling public will be minimal.
On Thursday, April 11, the entrance to the Long Term Surface Lot (furthest left entrance) will undergo equipment replacement. During this time, customers wishing to park in the long term surface lot will need to enter the Long Term Garage entrance and be manually directed to the surface lot. Airport parking attendants will be stationed at the entrance plaza to assist customers. Instructional signage will also be placed at the entrance to assist customers.
We expect the Public Parking Plaza to return to normal operations by the end of the business day on Thursday April 11.
Beginning Saturday, April 13, at 6 a.m., Sierra Nevada Construction will begin reconstruction of a portion of the North Ground Transportation Lot, located north of Baggage Claim.
The construction area will be active through 6 p.m. on Friday, April 19. Ground Transportation Operations will continue in the lot, however, in a reduced area and with passenger pick-up points shifted slightly. Busses larger than 24-passenger, including Amador and some Bell busses, will pick up passengers on the outer curb near Southwest Airlines ticketing.
Please follow signs directing motorists and pedestrians to the temporary routes and allow plenty of time to arrive at the airport.
