RELEASE – Trustee Jessica Sferrazza Named Airport Board Chair
Reno, Nev. – The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) has named Jessica Sferrazza its new Chair of the nine-member board that oversees both Reno-Tahoe International (RNO) and Reno-Stead Airports (RTS).
Sferrazza is the owner and founder of JESSCONVLLC, a statewide government affairs company. She has many years of dedicated public service including 12 years as a member of the Reno City Council where she worked to revitalize downtown, consolidate the regional animal shelter and initiated a neighborhood plan for the Midtown District. She was appointed to serve on the Airport Board by the City of Reno in 2015.
“I am excited to work with our new CEO (Daren Griffin), the Board, the dedicated airport staff and the entire family of airport businesses at RNO and Reno-Stead Airport,” Sferrazza said. “I look forward to chairing the airport as it plays a vital role in our community recovery through economic development, job creation and flights that support business and recreation.”
Sferrazza will look to build on strong relationships with the RSCVA, EDAWN and the Chamber of Commerce to overcome the impacts of COVID-19 and embark on a new Master Plan. Rebuilding air service and a commitment to public safety will be priorities.
“The health and safety of our passengers and stakeholders is our No. 1 priority,” Sferrazza said. “Our dedicated First Responders make sure we have the safest airport possible 24/7, 365 days a year.”
The Board Officers supporting Sferrazza for fiscal year 2020-21 include Vice-Chair Shaun Carey, Secretary Richard Jay and Treasurer Jenifer Rose. Other Board members include Nat Carasali, Lisa Gianoli, Art Sperber, Carol Chaplin and Daniel Farahi.
Trustees are appointed to the Board by the City of Reno, City of Sparks, Washoe County and the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority.
