MEDIA ALERT – Reno-Tahoe International Airport to Honor Olympic Medalist
What: Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) will host a water salute by the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) Fire Department to honor bronze medal Olympian Krysta Palmer.
The water salute will be followed by a welcome home press event for Palmer.
When: Tuesday, August 3, 2021
2:30 p.m. (Scheduled arrival time for Palmer’s United Airlines flight is 2:46 p.m.)
*NEWS MEDIA – Please meet at the ski statue in the main lobby of the terminal building by 2:30 PM if you wish to gain access onto the airfield to film the water arch.
Why: Water arches are a traditional aviation salute to honor community accomplishments and military honors.
Palmer made history when she became the first American to medal in the women’s 3-meter springboard since 1988.
