Yes, most job postings include a closing date. Applications must be received prior to 11:59 pm on that date.
Can I get a copy of an application I submitted for a previous job?
Once you submit your application to the RTAA, it is the property of the RTAA and we do not provide copies. We strongly encourage applicants to make a copy of each application before you submit it for consideration. When you apply online you will always have access to the applications that you submitted. In fact, once you create an application online, you may use it to apply to any open position at the airport as well as many other government agencies both locally and nationwide.
Can I just submit a resume?
We only accept resumes when attached to a completed application for an open position.
How do I apply for a job at the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA)?

How long does the recruitment process take?
Every recruitment is different. The process will vary in length depending upon the number of applications received, and the complexity of the selection process.
How many of my previous jobs should I put on my application?
You must provide a five-year work history. However, you also need to show all of your qualifying experience, even if you held that position over 5 years ago. Qualifying experience is work experience that meets the minimum qualifications as posted on each job announcement.
I already applied for one job; do I need to apply again if I'm interested in another job?
Yes, you need to submit a completed application for each position you are interested in. Each application is evaluated and scored separately based upon the specific requirements of the job. Applying online makes it easy because you can apply to different jobs by creating multiple applications that highlight specific skills and experiences for different positions.
What happens to my application after I turn it in?
Once the position closes; the Recruitment Specialist screens the submitted applications to determine if the minimum qualifications have been met. The group of applicants that meet the minimum qualifications are submitted to the hiring manager for review. The hiring manager determines who to interview. You can track the status of your application throughout the entire process! Simply use your www.Governmentjobs.com login name and password to view the status of all your applications.
What if I don't have a computer?
There are many community resources such as local libraries or Nevada Job Connect that offer free use of computers. In addition, we also have a computer available in the lobby of our administrative offices that may be used to apply for positions.
What if I miss the application deadline?
Late applications will not be accepted. Check our website regularly and apply for new jobs as soon as they are posted to avoid missed deadlines.
What is the best way for me to get an interview with the RTAA?
In order to make it through the 1st phase of the screening process; you must meet the minimum qualifications. Therefore, we cannot stress enough the importance of reading the application instructions and the Job Announcement before completing the application. Both have critical information needed to successfully complete our application. In addition, you will want to include any jobs that will prove you meet the minimum qualifications of the position for which you are applying. Only applications that meet the minimum qualifications will be forwarded to the hiring manager.
What is the interview process?
Once qualified applicants are identified, selected candidates are invited to interview. Subsequent interviews and/or individual assessment exercises may be conducted.
Will the RTAA sponsor me for a work visa?
The RTAA does not sponsor individuals for a work visa. Qualified applicants must be able to submit proof of eligibility to work in the United States immediately upon hire.
