Finding Your Way to the new Single Security Checkpoint.
Passenger flow at Reno-Tahoe International Airport is dramatically changing, with a new circular route that takes all departing passengers upstairs to the south and all arriving passengers down from the north. Effective, Thursday, March 21st, passengers will experience a new way to fly with the opening of the Security Checkpoint on the first floor and the ability to flow from one concourse to another on the second floor.
The new checkpoint opens at 4:00 a.m. on March 21. Located in the main lobby just past the iconic ski statue and the slot machines, the entrance to security opens to a large queuing space, seven wide screening lanes, and new state-of-the-art technology. Once past security, departing passengers can take the escalators or elevators up to the second floor and be met with a whole new passenger experience: four new shops, two restaurants, an art gallery and more.
Arriving passengers from both the B and C concourse will flow out through the new security exit, which is located on the north end of the second floor. Formally known as the “C” Concourse escalators, the north set of escalators and elevators will now take arriving passengers down to the main floor. Friends and family can meet them in the new comfortable “Meet and Greet” space located on the first floor just past the Mountain House Diner.
