11-14-2013 - Launch of New Air Service on Alaska to Portland, OR
On Friday, November 8th, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport welcomed the inaugural flight from Portland, OR on Alaska Airlines. The new service to the City of Roses operates daily and departs from Portland at 11:10am and arrives in Reno at 12:45pm and then departs Reno at 1:15pm and arrives in Portland at 12:50pm.
The inaugural flight was welcomed with a traditional water arch and press conference. Passengers were greeted with Reno-Tahoe cookies as they were welcomed to the region.
Olympic Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley was among the passengers on the inaugural flight from Portland where he had been promoting the new service and the local ski areas. Mr. Moseley presented Reno-Tahoe International Airport President/CEO Marily Mora with a dozen roses flown in from the City of Roses.
In addition to Mr. Moseley, speakers at the event included Reno-Tahoe International Board Chairman, Adam Mayberry and President/CEO, Marily Mora.
