04-21-2014 - Additional seats & flights on many American routes
Reno-Tahoe International Airport is adding more air service to the region with additional seats on many American Airlines flights to some of the busiest hub airports in the nation.
Effective June 12, 2014, American Airlines will increase service to Los Angeles from four daily flights to five, on a Sunday-Monday-Thursday-Friday basis. This flight operates with a 50-seat CRJ-200. This increase in number of flights currently has no end date.
In addition, American Airlines will offer increased seasonal service. Effective June 11 through August 18, flights to Dallas-Fort Worth will increase from two to three daily departures, with the route flown by three 150-seat B737-800s, rather than the current two 140-seat MD-80s.
Also from June 11 – August 18, American will increase service to Chicago O’Hare from one daily departure to two, also with the 150-seat B737-800.
U.S. Airways, which is merging with American Airlines, will increase the number of daily non-stop departures to Phoenix from four to six during the summer; with the first additional flight added June 1 and the second on July 1.
“The Airport is extremely pleased to be able to offer these additional flights and seats for the region,” said Airport Authority President and CEO Marily Mora. “Just in time for the busy summer months, American Airlines has recognized the demand for increased service and now it is up to the community to support these flights.”
