First Completed Project Under MoreRNO Infrastructure Program Unveiled   

RENO, Nev. (April 9, 2024) – The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) is delighted to announce the grand opening of the airport’s newly expanded Ticketing Hall, which will add an additional 10,000 square feet of space, impressive features, and the airport’s first-ever public art commission. This unveiling marks a significant milestone in the MoreRNO Infrastructure Program, demonstrating the RTAA’s commitment to preparing its facilities for future growth.

Reserved parking for this event is located in the Yellow Lot. To access the lot, stay to the right on the Loop Road and watch for special event signage (see map below). 

In this invitation-only event, attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to not only explore the newly remodeled space, encompassing a total of 30,000 square feet, but also hear from speakers including RTAA President/CEO Daren Griffin, members of the Board of Trustees, and the talented artist behind the Ticketing Hall artwork, Dixie Friend Gay. 

Highlighted features include: 

  • Improved passenger wayfinding and circulation 
  • Increased airline queuing by over 100% 
  • Advanced travel technology capabilities 
  • Abundance of natural light 
  • A modern mountain design throughout 
  • 80 tons of steel was used for both modern and structural elements  
  • 1,500 square feet of reclaimed wood sourced from the West Coast was incorporated, adding a touch of sustainability and regional character to the design
