03-10-2014 - Airport Seeks Request for Qualifications for Stead Development
The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for development at the 5,000-acre Reno-Stead Airport.
Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, the owner and operator of Reno-Stead Airport, is seeking qualifications from potential development partners with expertise in large and small scale industrial developments. The RFQ includes approximately 3,500 acres of aeronautical and non-aeronautical land.
With Reno- Stead Airport being designated a Federal Aviation Administration test site for unmanned aerial systems (UAS), the RFQ comes at a key time to attract interest in land at an airport that is one of six FAA test sites for UAS in the entire nation. Master development partners, or those interested in smaller parcels, are welcome to reply to the RFQ. Responses are due April 17.
Reno-Stead is a 5,000 acre general aviation airport that is home to 200 based aircraft, a National Guard base, BLM firefighting base, and the famous National Championship Reno Air Races.
