How do I prepare to travel with a dog?
The Reno-Tahoe International Airport is very canine friendly. In fact, Reno-Tahoe International is one of the few airports in the country that offers a Dog Park to four legged passengers. At the Gate K-9 Bark Park, dogs can run around, drink some water, and take care of any necessary "doggie business" with mutt mitts provided. For more information on the Bark Park, please go to Dog Park. Every airline has different rules, regulations, and restrictions regarding pets on aircraft. Please contact each airline directly in regards to their individual policy. Airlines that accept pets either as cargo or in-cabin are the following: American Airlines, Delta/Delta Connection, and Alaska/Horizon Airlines. Please note that Southwest Airlines only accepts assistance animals in the cabin of the aircraft. A list of airlines serving Reno-Tahoe International Airport, along with their phone numbers and web addresses, can be found under Airlines.
