In 2005, Reno-Tahoe International opened the Connector Collections Gallery as a means to celebrate the cultural heritage and artistic development of the Northern Nevada region, and to expand the artistic experience and enjoyment of Reno-Tahoe International's customers, tenants and employees.  The gallery is located on the second level of the main terminal between concourses B and C and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Gallery exhibits include:

Third Annual Employee Art Show
October 1, 2009 through January 15, 2010
This Third Annual Employee Art Show is a selection of 105 pieces of artwork created by 65 airport artists.  Mediums include paintings, works on paper, photography, sculpture, craft, and mixed media.  All created by employees of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, tenant employees of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, recent retirees, and immediate family members.  Performance Artists during the Artists' Reception included Jake Finley (on the trumpet) and Kreg Mebust & Team.

From Playa to Runway - The Art of Burning Man

June through September 14, 2009
Described by many as an experiment in community, radical self-expression and radical self-reliance, Burning Man - the annual event held in the Black Rock Desert - is all that, and so much more.  Because at its core, is its art.  This exhibit is comprised of several elements from Burning Man in an effort to share some of the event's magic.  The photo exhibit highlights some of the art from the past five years of the Burning Man festival.

Pal (Pets Add Life)
February through May 2009
Who's your pal?  Is it a frog, turtle, snake, monitor lizard, horse, dog or cat?  This exhibit, which includes 24 photographs of animals in human-like situations, is just a sampling of the great photographs that you will find in the American Pet Products Association's (APPA) annual calendar.  Photographer Jeff Ross, as well as the Nevada Humane Society and many of the airport's four-legged, furry friends were on had for an opening reception in March.

Second Annual Employee Art Show

October through December 2008
This second annual Employee Art Show is a selection of 88 pieces of artwork created by 53 airport artists.  Mediums include paintings, works on paper, photography, sculpture, craft, and new this year mixed media.  All created by employees of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, tenant employees of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, recent retirees, and immediate family members.

Wild Nevada
June through August 2008
The Friends of Nevada Wilderness, a Nevada-based nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving clean water and air, beautiful views, recreational opportunities, wildlife, and quality of life for Nevada's communities, share a selection of Nevada photography from their 2008 and previous Wild Nevada Calendars.

Watercolors Far & Near
February through April 2008
This showing of 55 vibrant watercolors by 46 watercolor artists includes work from accomplished watercolor artist Karen Honaker and the Sierra Watercolor Society.  The Sierra Watercolor Society is a non-profit organization formed to promote the awareness of watercolors among its members and the public.  The society coordinates an all volunteer art group "Art Angels" to take watercolors into local elementary schools.  Some of the fruits of this labor of love are also being displayed in the gallery, courtesy of High Desert Montessori School.

An Employee Art Show

This first annual Employee Art Show is a selection of 89 pieces of artwork created by 55 airport artists.  Mediums include paintings, works on paper, photography, sculpture, and craft, all created by employees of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, tenant employees of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, recent retirees, and immediate family members.

Children...Discover, Investigate, Learn
June through August 2007
The nationally recognized University of Nevada, Reno Child and Family Research Center features the ideas and thinking of infants to Kindergartners expressed through movement, paint, drawing, and photography.  The exhibit of the children's work and words documented by teachers provides compelling evidence of the creative collaboration between children and adults.

Artouring at the Airport

Artouring provides the cultural tourist with exclusive insider tours.  Experience some of Nevada's best professional artists as they invite you into their private studios to share their art and their creative process.  This exhibit is just a sampling of the art made available to you through studio visits.

TMCC Art Exhibition

An art exhibit by students, faculty, and staff members of Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC).  TMCC offers a wide variety of art classes including art history, photography, ceramics, drawing, and more.

The Work of Art

The gallery's opening exhibit, presents a selection of creative photography from students in the University of Nevada, Reno School of the Arts.  This exhibit explores the inspiration, imagination, discipline, dedication, and craft required to create a work of art.


Airport Sculptures
In addition to gallery exhibits, Reno-Tahoe International is proud to be the home of the following site specific sculpture:

"Wolf Pack"
Located In the Wolf Pack Den just prior to the B Security Checkpoint.  The Wolf Pack Den was generously donated by the Reviglio Family and Western Nevada Supply.  "Wolf Pack" was installed by the University of Nevada athletic department.

Performing Arts
Reno-Tahoe International
also presents ongoing performance arts entertainment in the main lobby.  If you're traveling through the airport during one of these dates and times, you may just experience some of Northern Nevada's finest sights and sounds.

Special Events at the Airport

The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority is proud to be a community partner within the Reno-Tahoe region in hosting local entertainment events, adding enjoyment to the travel experience.  

Reno-Tahoe International hosts a variety of local performances throughout the year.  Entertainment is provided for major holidays and events such as Artown, the Blues Festival, and a multitude of tournaments and conferences. Be sure to schedule your travel arrangements around these great performances while traveling through the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.
