Airport Community Events

At Reno-Tahoe International, the airport's involvement in local organizations and community events is critical in reaching out and giving back to the region. The airport is located in the center of town and is vital to the community; our involvement keeps us connected to the people who make this area great.

The team of management and staff participate in a wide range of community events including Corporate Challenge and the X-treme Abilities Challenge, deliver food to local families and plan award winning Career Events with the airport's Partner in Education, Swope Middle School, and walk in support of breast cancer awareness in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Members of the Airport Authority serve on the board of United Way and the Nevada Women's Fund, and are active in Rotary Clubs, Neighborhood Advisory Boards, or the Young Professionals Network. Partnerships with these service clubs have led to events such as Fantasy Flight and Snowball Express which help disadvantaged children enjoy the holiday season with gifts from Santa and a trip to Disneyland.

Whether it's coordinating a Hawaiian Luau at 5 AM in the airport lobby to send off a Make-a-Wish child to the islands, or sprinting in the 100-meter alongside a counterpart from a local business, Reno-Tahoe International Airport believes in the spirit of collaboration and is proud to give back to the community.
