Olympics Portal Airport
Reno-Tahoe International Airport is proud to announce that it has been selected as an Olympic Portal airport for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.
In order to maintain security, manage air space and parking, all private aircraft flying into Vancouver during the Olympic Games must first land at a designated portal airport like Reno. All private or corporate aircraft planning to fly into Vancouver during the games must also first make a reservation at www.2010airportreservations.ca.
Reno-Tahoe International offers three FBOs that are well prepared to accommodate aircraft bound for the Vancouver Olympic Games. These FBOs can be found on the airport's website at General Aviation - Fixed Base Operators.
Reno-Tahoe International is nestled at the base of the picturesque Sierra Nevada mountain range and was the home airport for the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympics.
If you fly into Reno on your way to or from Vancouver, stay and visit the incredible Reno-Tahoe region. No location in the world can offer the winter fun by day and gaming and entertainment by night like Reno-Tahoe can. To learn more about what our region has to offer, go to www.visitrenotahoe.com.

Reno-Tahoe International is one of three United States airports to receive this designation. Canadian officials expect approximately 300 to 500 aircraft per day to fly into British Columbia during the games. The portal system will help air traffic controllers and Canadian security officials coordinate the safe arrival and departure of the aircraft.
